Can We Disagree And Still Be Tolerant?
Our culture’s two highest values are freedom and tolerance but the definitions of these words have been radically changed in recent years. Freedom is no longer tied to virtue, duty or purpose. It’s all about an unbridled personal autonomy to do whatever you want without judgement. That idea has greatly informed the new definition of tolerance.
This is just one pervasive idea in today’s culture. It’s not new, but it’s
growing in popularity—even making its way into the pews and choir lofts of
evangelical churches. It’s more important than ever to know how to
think critically about key issues like this and know how to respond when you hear it. In this course we give you the tools you need to do all that, and to stand as a beacon of truth in an increasingly secular world.
